New Guidance on the use of Cookies from digital marketing agency, Cal Partners

The Information Commissioner’s Office has issued new guidance on the use of website cookies.

Our understanding of the new guidance means you have to actively opt in to marketing/analytics cookies – which unfortunately means that Google Analytics data will not be collected (unless that person opts in) and will more or less flatline for most websites.

Please refer to this blog for more information about the new guidance. A recent case has ruled that pre-checked checkboxes on consent banners are invalid forms of consent, apart from strictly necessary cookies.

Contact your website developer or IT department to review your website cookies.
