Meet the Team
Having each worked at some of the leading professional services firms in the North East, the team at Cal Partners is made up of experienced experts in marketing, digital marketing and business development.
Chris Lucarelli, Director
Chris is a Chartered Marketer and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Member. Chris qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and subsequently a partner in a regional law firm where he was heavily involved in marketing and business development in each of his roles.
Realising that the legal market was on the brink of seismic change was a catalyst for Chris to galvanise his passion for professional services marketing and business development and study towards CIM qualifications, culminating in the completion of the CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Chris was presented with the Top International Student award by the then CIM President, Lord Heseltine and Certificate of Merit from The Worshipful Company of Marketors’ Charitable and Educational Trust.
With traditional and online marketing becoming inextricably linked, Chris completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing with the Digital Marketing Institute.
Chris became a Senior Business Development Manager at one of the largest personal injury solicitor firms in the UK. He worked closely with insurers, brokers and blue chip companies as well as taking an active role in new product development in anticipation of the Legal Services Act.
Chris then worked as a Business Development and Marketing Manager at a leading barristers' chambers. He oversaw a period of unprecedented growth engaging with a wide range of prospects and clients including high street as well as national and international law firms, insurers, in house legal teams at corporates, police authorities, local authorities, NHS Trusts, school academies, land agents, the Crown Prosecution Service, the military, trades unions, Central Government including the Government Legal Service and agencies such as the Marine Management Organisation, Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive and professional regulatory bodies such as the General Medical Council, Health and Care Professions Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Given the tasks he was involved with, from large tendering exercises to event management, marketing campaigns, new product development and website builds, Chris recognised the value of robust project management skills and qualified as a Prince2 Project Manager.
Chris is a Board member of Young Enterprise North East & Cumbria. Young Enterprise is a leading UK business and education charity supporting young people through practical employability and financial education programmes.

Rachel Wright, Marketing Manager
Rachel has 10 years of marketing experience with a particular specialism in the professional services sector. Rachel gained a First Class Honours degree in Marketing Management and is a Member (MCIM) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Rachel has worked at some of the region’s leading legal and financial services firms.
Rachel has a wealth of experience in developing and implementing imaginative marketing and business development programmes. She has previously led major rebrands and the marketing of specialist sectors in the legal field.
Rachel’s expertise lies in project management and driving forward initiatives to successful campaigns.
She has a passion for events management. Rachel’s role at Cal Partners is to support the Director in the effective marketing of Cal Partners and its clients.
Working with a range of clients, Rachel develops, plans, implements and manages marketing and business development strategies using the full range of marketing tools including: digital and online marketing, social media, marketing collateral, event management, direct marketing, advertising, PR, communications and research.
Rachel is a Trustee for Tiny Lives, a charity that supports premature and sick newborn babies at the RVI. Before joining Cal Partners, Rachel worked at a leading independent school as Development Manager, where she planned and implemented a development strategy through fundraising initiatives to support capital, bursary and school projects, raising £300,000 in 15 months.
